    2190

BCI's new 2190 series HD-SDI, non-blocking matrix switching system allows digital signal routing in 8 X 8, 16 X 16, and 32 X 32 configurations in a compact 1 RU or 2 RU chassis. Control is achieved through a manual touch panel, or RS-232 or IP via PC based software. The standard model supports SMPTE 292M HD-SDI signals with optional re-clocking and cable equalization for Broadcast or long distance applications.

Additionally, the 2190 series can be configured to handle digital video with differing data rates such as HD-SDI, SDI, DVB-ASI or proprietary digital video signals.

Perhaps, the most exciting development is that when used in its generic format and combined with BCI's 1800 series E/O O/E conversion product, the 2190 series functions as an optical switch and allows for low cost optical switching system design.

In a custom configuration, the 2190 series functions as a multi-format switch capable of accommodating analog video and analog audio as well as digital video and audio.

Broadata Communications attended its first ever ITS America tradeshow in Palm Springs recently. Intelligent Highway systems provide both fiber optic transmission and IP transmission opportunities for BCI utilizing "environmentally hardened" versions of the Standard BCI products. The tradeshow was a great success and there was a lot of interest in the new BCI capabilities in the transmission of Video and data over IP networks. Both the 230i and 324i series products received great attention. Additionally, there was interest in customization of the 230i to include Gigabit Ethernet support.

BCI is excited to explore these new opportunities!

Broadata Communications, Inc participated in BroadcastAsia 2007 in Singapore. The show expanded from last year's 2 halls, to 3 halls this year with over 800 exhibitors. The show drew much more attendees - over 100,000 people attended the show this year. It was the biggest event in broadcast and communication in Asia.

For our fiber product line, new model 300E, multi channel digital fiber optic video/audio/data transport systems, model 1600, multi channel fiber optic SDI transport systems, and model 1700, fiber optic digital video/audio transport systems were well received. Because IPTV has becoming more and more popular in Asia, many visitors came to our booth, and were interested in our model 230i/240i.

Many of our distributors in Asia also visited our booth and some even stayed and helped.

InfoComm 2007 was a huge success for BCI! The tradeshow held recently in Anaheim, CA was the biggest and most well attended yet! BCI was highlighting its new IP product portfolio which garnered lots of new sales opportunities. BCI's new 1800 series and bundled HD-SDI Matrix Switch products (2190 Series) were well received by those looking for "low cost" optical switching platforms. DVI and RGB transport (4800, 4801, 4610, 4600E) and the 300 series products were among the most popular requests within the fiber optic product lineup. BCI is already looking forward to next year's show to be held in Las Vegas. See you there!
