BCI’s Modular Designs Allow Inexpensive Ethernet Functionality to
be added to its Standard Products |
Almost all of BCI’s current standard product line is available to
have either 10/100 or Gigabit Ethernet functionality added within a single box. As a result of Broadata’s modular digital designs, BCI has been able to provide its customers with custom solutions that other vendors would not do. Now, BCI has developed a way to add inexpensive Ethernet functionality to a standard product to support the increasing applications of IP based system controls, the convergence of AV and IT departments and audio over Ethernet. In most cases, existing enclosures can be utilized. However, in some cases, a larger enclosure may be required. (Consult the factory to verify enclosure dimensions.) Fiber count may also increase but coarse wave division multiplexing schemes can be employed for the addition of Ethernet functionality to the other video and audio functions on as little as 1 fiber! In addition, Ethernet switch capability can be added to allow for multi-port Ethernet requirements.

BCI 1700 Series Supports Analog Audio Transmission |
The BCI 1700 Series
is a product that transmits one SDI video channel (270 Mb/sec, S.M.P.T.E
259M) along with 2 AES digital audio (meets or exceeds AES3 specs) channels, point to point. The product is available in either unidirectional or bi-directional versions. Recently, BCI modified its designs to optionally support 2 channels of analog audio instead of the AES digital audio. This is a result of a world wide upswing in applications for transmission of digital video and analog stereo audio. In addition, the product also supports DVB-ASI video streams without modification. Like all BCI products, BCI’s 1700 series is available in both standalone box or card based formats. CWDM optics options and network management versions are available. |
