BCI recently returned from Orlando, Florida from the highly
successful, Infocomm 2006 tradeshow. This show is growing as evidenced
by the highest attendance ever of 28,000+ people. BCI was showing
multiple product demonstrations that were all well received. These
included the new 230i,
video, audio, and data over IP product, iVideoPhone,
a low cost, touch screen video teleconferencing unit, and BCI’s
new 1 fiber RGB with stereo audio unit, the 4700
Series. In general, the tradeshow was showcasing larger and higher
resolution display and projector technology and the hardware used to
transport video and audio signals to those displays. HD resolutions are
becoming the defacto standard in the Pro AV marketplace. Both DVI and
RGB or YUV solutions dominated the product offerings across the show.
Additionally, video over IP products were also highlighted. BCI has
solutions for all of those video and audio types and more!
BCI will be attending Infocomm 2007 in Anaheim California and has
doubled its booth size for next year. See you next year!
| Last Buy on 230/240 and 300 Models by July 31,
2006 |
 |
We
are currently transitioning our 230/240
and 300 Series into 210E/220E
and 300E
Series. The 230/240 and 300 are single-channel and multi- channel
audio/video/data over fiber products, respectively. They have been on
the market since 2000-2001. The 210E/220E and 300E will be the
replacement product models for 230/240 and 300, respectively. With
newer technologies and chip sets designed in the 210E/220E and 300E,
their performance exceeds their older generations. We have established
July 31, 2006 as the “Last Buy” date for 230/240 and 300
models. In other words, the 230/240 and 300 shipment will be guaranteed
for any order by this date. Any order for 230/240 and 300 units after
July 31, 2006 will be contingent on the availability of parts. If you
or your customers are planning a 230/240 and/or 300 installation,
please let us know earlier.

| Media Summit Caribbean and Central
America |
 |
BCI, together with Inviso,
our South American dealer participated in the Media Summit Caribbean and
Central America Conference in Miami, Florida from May 31 to June 2nd.
It is the sixth annual conference and the first time held in Miami.
About 500 television executives attended the conference this year. The
theme for this year was “Adapting to Digital Integration,”
providing a focus on converting new technologies into revenue
generators for broadcast television and pay TV operators. BCI presented
the newly released model 230i, audio and video over IP network
transmission system at the conference. It was the only audio and video
over IP product at the conference. Many of our customers from the
Caribbean islands and Central America came to the conference. Many
showed great interest in the model 230i
Series.
Our fiber product lines such as newly released model 1600,
multi-channel fiber optic SDI transport system, and model 1700
fiber optic digital video audio transport systems also generated a great
deal of interest.

iVideoPhone is a New Product at
BCI |
|
|
As an expansion to the BCI growing line of video over IP products,
the BCI iVideoPhone
is an advanced product allowing for complex video teleconferencing over
IP network at a reasonable cost compared to the industry leaders,
Polycom and Tandberg. The iVideoPhone is a Windows CE based computer
with LCD touchscreen technology with a 640 X 480 (VGA) resolution
camera and speakers built into the bezel of the unit. The unit operates
with the latest MPEG4 video compression technology and allows the user
to select video transmission bandwidth at 300 kb/sec. This provides for
the full VGA resolution over a standard 10/100 Ethernet network. In
addition to the previously mentioned features, an interactive
“whiteboard” is built in, as well as a digital answering
machine and address book. All Windows CE based software is compatible
(within the memory limitations) and allows for aftermarket
applications, such as customized control software. Inputs include a
PCMCIA Card slot, Ethernet connection, video over IP phone connection,
speaker and microphone jacks, and NTSC/PAL video input for external
camera.
Initiating a video conference is as simple as touching the screen a
couple of times. Each unit is independently IP addressable and is
capable of performing over the World Wide Web (with gateway and ISP
provider), but is optimized and recommended for Enterprise, closed
network applications. Typical market applications include distance
learning for schools, inter-government communication, corporate
boardroom communication/training and medical doctor/patient
communication/training. |
