| 1800 Series |
 |
BCI’s exciting new 1800 Series E/O O/E unit provides
electro-optical conversion for use with digital matrix
switches/routers. By itself, the 1800 Series converts
up to 16 channels of copper based electrical
information to digital signals output on fiber optic
cabling and back again for bi-directional capability in a
1RU, 19” rack mount unit. When used in conjunction
with ANY manufacturer’s digital matrix switch/router, a
fully switched video audio and data system can be
constructed with “as needed” fiber optic ports for
transmission. In essence, a digital matrix switch can
be “converted” into an optical switch with as few as 1
or as many as all ports being fiber optic. This means
that ANY systems integrator familiar with any of the
copper based digital matrix/router switches can
provide customers with fiber optic switching
capabilities without the very high cost associated with
all optical switches. In addition, separate matrix
switches dedicated to particular AVD functions are no
longer required. One digital matrix switch will handle
ALL input signals regardless of type! (Must not be
analog only transmission ...i.e., capable of being
digitized.) Also, transmission hardware is reduced
(as well as overall system costs) by reducing the fiber
optic transmission hardware needed. The 1 RU 1800
series is fully scalable and can be stacked to support
any matrix/router switch size.

| CATV |

|
BCI’s product line now includes many of the items that
the CATV industry needs and wants. BCI’s card based
Facility Link platform, the FLP-1000 provides media
conversion over fiber optic cables for almost any type
of audio, video, or data signal type and is certified to
operate in conjunction with common copper matrix
router/switches. The 230i Series is a low cost way for
facility monitoring and distribution over Ethernet IP
networks. BCI’s 730 Series provides CATV RF signal
distribution over fiber optic cable while the 710 Series
provides L-band support. In addition, BCI carries APC
patch cords/cabling as well as fiber optic splitters and
couplers commonly used to reduce system costs by
reducing some of the hardware required for
transmission. As a reminder, all of BCI’s products are
available in a standalone box format in addition to card
formats.

Broadata Communications Inc. will be joining our
local distributor in China to participate in China
Content Broadcasting Network (CCBN) in Beijing from
March 30 to April 1.
CCBN is the world’s largest exhibition of DTV and
broadband network industries and China’s only
international exhibition of broadcast, cable and
satellite technology and equipment. CCBN is one of
the largest exhibitions in Asia. The show attracts more
than 60,000 professional visitors and 1,000
companies and organizations from over 30 countries
from around the world. With 12 exhibition halls, the
total show area is 60,000 square meters.
BCI will introduce our new IP product model 230i with
multicast capability and fiber optical transport
systems, model 1700 (SDI/AES), 1600 (multi SDI
channels) and 1100E (HD-SDI).
If you happen to be in Beijing, please visit our booth at
Hall 2B, booth number B2302.
