Broadata Communications Inc., participated for the first time, at IBC 2006. It was held from September 8th to 12th in Amsterdam. It was a very busy show. According to IBC 2006 records, the attendance rose to around 45,000, a 5% increase compared with the year before. The exhibition was very large and had a total of 12 halls this year. In addition to fiber related products, video over IP was also highlighted during this year’s show.
The newly released model 1000i, SDI over IP/Ethernet and model 1700 , fiber optic digital video/audio, SDI and AES transport systems got a lot of attention. The model 1000i features transmission for a full SD-SDI data integrity including SDI embedded audio and ancillary data. It can handle a wide range of data rates. The model 1700 has a unique feature that transmits one SDI and 2 AES audio in a single wavelength. BCI believes that the quality of video, audio and data transmission is much superior to the embedded video/audio transmission designed and used by other manufacturers.

    4800 Series Achieves RoHS Compliance
    4800RoHS
BCI is proud to announce that the 4800 Series (DVI) product has achieved RoHS compliance certification. The 4800 Series is certified as RoHS compliant based upon the 2003 directive from the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union to eliminate hazardous materials in electronic products. The 4800 Series’ compliance means that the 4800 Series products are free from lead (pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (Cr 6), polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated dephenyl ethers (PBDE).

BCI Adds 240i and 520i to its Product Portfolio
    520i
BCI is pleased and proud to announce the next iteration in the Broadata product lineup! Our 240i/520i units are capable of bi-directionally transmitting one channel, baseband, NTSC/PAL video, one stereo audio pair (2 audio channels) , one RS-232 or RS-422 data channel and one 10/100 Ethernet over IP/Ethernet networks. Through MPEG compression, the BCI product encodes or decodes the video, audio and data into 10/100 Ethernet packets and transports them over a common Ethernet/IP network where it is delivered back into its native format. Image, audio and data qualities are maintained at professional levels throughout the transmission process. No sophisticated user adjustments are necessary in configuring the product, enabling quick setup, trouble free operation and low operating costs.
The design of this product is similar to other BCI products in that “ease of use” is foremost, providing a true, “plug and play” installation experience. Product versions are available for point-to-point applications, point-to-multi-point applications, streaming or multicast applications.
