The 6550 Series is a high performance Fiber Optic Repeater System that provides automated signal reclocking and regeneration. The 6550 has three choices of data rate ranges: 180 Mbps, 600 Mbps and 1.25 Gbps. Both unidirectional and bi-directionalrepeater configurations are available. The 6550 can also address either multimode and singlemode fiber versions. The 6550 is a multi-rate repeater design, thus accommodating many different data rates.

The 6550 is the perfect solution for existing fiber optic data links to further extend distance by inserting the 6550 units within the link. The 6550 provides retrofit solution to any fiber optic network equipment without needing modification.

The 6550 comes with a standalone, compact, ruggedized packaging. Panel connectors are provided for various fiber connectors. The 6550 can be easily monitored by LED indicators for power and channel activity.
