| | The 920 Series is a high performance Optical-Switched Route Protection System that provides protocol independent, high speed, automated switching between primary and secondary fibers in case of fiber break. The standard 920 system is designed to support bi-directional singlemode fiber optic data link protection against a fiber break. Because of its optical switching design, the system can be operated in either 1310 and/or 1550 window, independent of network protocol used. The 920 is the perfect add-on solution for existing fiber optic data links without any built-in fault tolerance. The 920 provides a retrofit solution to optical network equipment without needing modification. The 920 also provides alarms through contact closure connections to warn user's that a loss of their main local optical source has occurred and provide fault reporting in both primary and secondary fibers. Timing of switching functions can be pre-selected from 10 milliseconds to several minutes to accommodate boot-up procedures or other custom network configurations. The 920 is available in two packaging options; a rugged, standalone version available in a compact unit, or a plug-in card for a card cage system. Lastly, the 920 is easily monitored by LED indicators for power and channel activity. For complete specifications, see PDF.
